Snow Day – Now With Pictures

Hopefully I’ll get some good pictures up later today. It’s a rare occasion that we get snow, but today is a full blown snow day. I don’t know how much will stick, but so far the newly weeded and prepared flowerbed is a blanket of white. Lola got a snowball thrown at her by daddy on the way out to the car while leaving for school. And big fat flakes are randomly falling. The forecast says by 9 this morning it should turn over to all snow with the biggest portion hitting this afternoon. The novelty of it is really exciting for us. Makes me want to knit knit knit!

Hope you are staying warm and dry! Peace!

Update: Still coming down, although lighter now. The weather reports say it will be off and on all day. Fun!

Enjoy the pictures!

  1. Ahhhhh SO JEALOUS!! It snowed once here this year. ONCE! And melted 4 hours later…

A little snow our way? I mean, we are in Oregon, right? 🙂

    Love you sis!!

  2. Oh that is so beautiful. Love seeing these pics.
When i picked up my little boy from school yesterday it was 36 degrees, are big difference from your day…xxx

  3. Are you worried that your garden will suffer, or are your plants resistant to freezing temperatures?

Many trees and bulbs are blooming here and I wonder if the rain will ruin the flowers on my apricot tree and effect its ability to fruit.

i was a bit worried but i had mulched really heavily at the beginning of the season and so new growth was really protected. everything else i covered up..:) i did lose my lime tree this winter though…it just couldn't handle the hard freezes we had even covered. we are going to try something else there and plant another lime in a big pot so we can move it to the porch and cover it there for extra protection next year. was a wierd, super cold winter for here..;)
