We had some crazy winds yesterday for all of 15 minutes, no tornado warnings but reminded me a bit of it except the sky was clear. So where these winds came from, I don’t know. But they did their damage sadly. We lost an upside/down tomato, and the worse one, the birdhouse was blown hard enough to fall. Mama wren is nowhere to be seen, but the nest is destroyed and the little eggs she was so happily sitting on look like the worlds smallest omelettes. We are going to clean it out this weekend and then Fort Knox it to the tree and try again.
Mama Wren, I’m so sorry for your loss!
Trying to find a little Peace amongst small disappointments. Circle of life….

Poor babes and Mama Wren : (
When things like this happen in nature I always feel so 'helpless'…. We just had a bird house fall down and the Mama bird just sat next to the birdhouse that was on the ground, it was so sad to see her waiting like that. Wishing you Peace!
I love birds, so I can only suspect Mama Wren lost her nest. I have been in a tornado before in PA — not fun! Now, I live in VA in a house without a basement where the threat can be more real. Oh, well, it's a trade-off to live near the coast — oh, what about those hurricanes…
aww cat 🙁 we watched a mourning dove mama and daddy build their nest, lay their eggs, saw the eggs hatch, then one day the parents were gone snd flies awere buzzing around the nest, one of the babies died somehow BUT we went outside and underneath the tree was the other baby still alive. i wrapped him up in a small blanket and wool and brough him to the emergency vet. i hope he made it.
Poor Mama wren and little ones. 🙁 I don't know about any nests affected by the storm in our area, but at least the birds were happily visiting the feeders the next day.
