Minecraft Summer Splash

A few weeks ago, Lola had the opportunity to participate in another Minecraft event hosted by Super League Gaming at the local Cinemark Theater in Bee Cave, TX.  Her and her friend spent every morning for 1 week at the theater working on their builds and gaming with other kids from all over the country.  They had a great time!  They were treated really well, had a lot of fun and made some new friends.  We highly recommend these tournaments when they come around.  This is the second one she has done and she is really looking forward to doing more in the future.

This time around it wasn’t just about the game, but they worked on tons of builds with an ocean theme.  The creativity of these kids and how they learn each others strengths and work together to complete these complicated structures is inspiriting.  Imagine if adults could always work together like that?!

So as summer comes to a close and school is just around the corner, we are grateful to Super League Gaming for giving Lola the opportunity to experience this event and look forward to more!

Super League Gaming!

A few weeks ago, I was gifted with 2 tickets for my daughter and her friend to participate in the Super League Gaming Minecraft event at our local theater, the Hill Country Galleria Cinemark.  They brought their laptops, were assigned a team and had a blast for 4 Saturday’s.

The theater was actually quite full with kids of all ages playing together on the big screen.  The cooperation level was impressive amongst all these kids, with many of them meeting for the first time.

It was very well organized, clear instructions were given on how to login, etc., and most of all a lot of fun for these 13 year olds.  John Bickle of the Super League Gaming support team was extremely helpful in getting the girls set up in the computer system prior to their arrival.  He was friendly and answered all my questions.  Overall the entire experience was great and the girls are looking forward to participating again next time it comes back around!  They highly recommend it!

Family Bowling Night

We went bowling tonight.  First time in years and we had a blast!   We went with some good friends of our’s and their son.   While both girls did great, I think Xi is actually hooked.  She kept telling me how much she loved to bowl and I swear she didn’t stop grinning the whole night. 

Here’s our little bowler:

Every time she hit a pin she’d jump up and down and then clap. It didn’t matter if it was 1 pin or 9 pins, same reaction everytime. We are definitely going to be bowling more in the future.

What fun! So here is mine. My darling little Xi from a year or so ago (my photos on this computer are more recent than the computer downstairs). She has the biggest eyes and was looking up at me with all her innocence. I had to snap a shot and it turned out to be one of my favorites!
